Yr 4 Looking Back and Forth - Friday 15th September 2023
Friday 15th September– Looking Back & Forth in Year 4
Looking back:
This week, the children worked hard on their English creating noun towers (expanded noun phrases) and developing their understanding of fronted adverbials. In maths, we continued to work on place value and started to look at the timestables x2, x4, x8, and x9.
In science, the class classified animals into different groups.
Questions to ask at home -
- How do you make a noun tower?
- Where would you find a fronted adverbial?
- What do you find straight after a fronted adverbial?
- How did you classify animals this week?
Children’s highlights of the week
- Classifying animals with Mrs B
- Starting our new book
- Being with their friends and teachers
- Creating noun towers!
Looking forward:
This next week, the children will start to look at factual report writing, as well as work with a willow artist on Tuesday afternoon. The children will be exploring the field to conduct a ‘bug survey’ and learn about different types of mountains.
