Yr 4 Looking Back and Forth Friday 18th June

Friday 18th June– Looking Back & Forth in Year 4

Looking back:

In our second week, we continued to look at the marvellous myth book ‘Arthur and the Golden Rope’.  We studied the adventures of Eleanor Brownstone and discovered what fun you can have with an abstract noun!

In maths, we continued our work on decimals. This time, looking at hundredths.  We worked on; coding in Scratch with Mrs Cooper, started to put together a very jazzy sequence of moves in our PBuzz lesson, raced with the Premier Sports coaches on the field in athletics, learnt about Sutton Hoo and Christianity in the Anglo-Saxon time and explored a story from the Hindu faith with Mrs Riddell.

Questions to ask at home:

What is an abstract noun?

Who is Eleanor Brownstone?

What does intrepid mean?

What is Sutton Hoo?

Where is it?

What surrounded the eye pieces on the helmet?

What did the king sound like with the helmet on?

Who were St Columb, St Aidan and St Augustine?

Why do people think Aidan was the clever out of all of them?

What is Lindisfarne?
