Looking back:
This week, the class have been working very hard on writing their Viking myth narrative. These have been inspired by the story Arthur and the Golden Rope.
In maths, the class has been looking at perimeter and length.
Questions to ask at home -
- How many metres in a kilometre?
- How many centimetres in a metre?
- How many millimetres in a centimetre?
- What two magical items does Arthur have to retrieve to make the golden rope?
- Who is Fenrir?
- What did he do the Tyr?
- What day of the week is named after Thor?

Looking forward:
This week, the class will be; exploring sound proofing in science, learning about Bear Grylls and his faith in R.E., designing and creating Anglo Saxon brooches as well as finishing their Viking myth story.
Homework in Year 4
Maths – cream sheet – division with remainders
English – direct and indirect speech
Reading – daily at least 15 mins – remember to take the Acelerated Reader Quizzes
Rockstars – as much as possible 10 mins daily is ideal – at least once a week for 20 mins
Spellings – Mrs Riddell – Please learn them for the test on Wednesday. It is better to look at them for 5 minutes each day than try to learn them all in one night. The children remember them better learnt over the week.
Could the children please complete their homework in pencil or blue/black pen not felt tip.
Timestables – New this week 1 x 11 x12 x6 x8 x14
(Homework can be handed it at anytime before Friday, the children know where the basket is)
