Yr 4 Looking Back and Forth - Friday 3oth September 2022

Friday 30th September– Looking Back & Forth in Year 4

Looking back:

This week, we planned our biographies on the mountaineer, George Mallory.  The children also studied his exploits as part of their history work.  The Everest dioramas got a coat of paint.  We looked at numbers and place value to 10,000 in maths.

Questions to ask at home

  • Where was George Mallory born?
  • Which mountain in Europe did he climb?
  • What did he do 6 days before World War One broke out?
  • How many times did he climb Everest?
  • Do you think he made it to the summit? Why?

Looking forward:

This week, the children will write their biographies on George Mallory and complete their mountain dioramas.  Can the children please fill in their reading records and bring them in on Friday.  We have lots of marbles riding on it!
