Yr 4 Looking Back and Forth

Friday 16th July– Looking Back & Forth in Year 4

Looking back:

The last full week in Year 4 has been a …. well, a full one!

We published our Viking myth paragraphs and worked on symmetry.  We learnt about the highs and lows of Viking Britain.  We explored the instruments we may be able to play next year in wider opps music.  We puzzled out a biscuit key and how we didn’t gobble all of those biscuits, I will never know!

Questions to ask at home:

What key did you make for biscuits, tell me more?

What is a line of symmetry and how does it work?

What instruments did you try on Wednesday?

Mr Birch did ask the children to chat at home about all of your preferences.  He said that the children should have a look at orchestra pieces or listen to parts played by the instruments they may like to play.  He did impress on the children, that as you would be in listening distance, that your thoughts should also be considered when selecting an instrument.

Children’s Highlights Of The Week:

  • Exploring the instruments
  • Publishing my work on the Viking myth
  • Ice lollies with Mrs Riddell
  • Maths with mirrors
  • Sewing our pictures
  • Everything!

Looking Forward:

This week, the children are going to completing their topic work on Vikings as well as animals and habitats.  They will be bringing quite a few books home this week.  I will be keeping a couprl of sets of books back , but will had them back after the autumn term.

 Letters

Reports and photographs will be coming out on Monday
