Yr4 - Looking Back and Forth - 15th March 2019
Friday 15th March 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 4
Looking back:
In English this week, the children continued to look at persuasive texts. They finished their emails to YouTube, to persuade them to improve the safety on their site. These were then published in an email format.
The class, in maths looked at Roman Numerals. This, the children found quite challenging but enjoyable. We then started to look at shape, in particular angles – right angles, acute and obtuse angles.
In the afternoons, we continued to look at the ‘Golden Age’, when Elizabeth came to the throne. We looked at important figures in exploration at the time. We looked at how the Tudors were the inventors of pencils and telescopes and how that changed Tudor England.
In science, the class pretty much completed the circuit boards and then we had a great session with Poppy’s mum. Who came into to talk to us about all things electrical; We got to look at industrial wiring. We took apart plugs, smoke alarms and switches as well as making out own torches!
