Yr4 1st February - Looking Back and Forth
Monday 4th February 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 4
Looking back:
The children completed their stories with a historical setting, and are now in the process of publishing them for their topic books. I have been really impressed with their attitude to this work. A special thank you to Ella for providing the candle and snuffer, which gave us a fantastic piece of inspiration for the ending. (creeping up to the Prince’s Tower)
In the afternoons, we looked at electrical safety in the home and created a poster for younger children, to understand the dangers of electricity.
This week we started to look at the larger than life Monarch, Henry VIII. We studied portraits of the king - discussed and reported what messages about the king, the paintings were trying to portray.
With Mrs Cooper this week the children worked on Microsoft Logo, which is basics of programming. If you look in the gallery you will be able to see some pictures of the children working on this. In French, the children studied the weather. (Great week for this – also look in the gallery for Snow pictures)
The wonderful Mrs Goldsmith also came in this week to help us finish the gelipad printing part of our artwork.
Year 4 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- Writing our stories in English
- Publishing our Prince’s Seal stories
