Dear Parents and Families of Year 4
Remote Learning in Year 4
As you are now aware, the school has been closed for the foreseeable future and I will now be working and teaching the class remotely. From now on, all Year 4 pupils will be required to access the school website by logging in under the “student login” at the top of the Year 4 page.
This is a new aspect to teaching for both families and schools and whilst we have done our utmost to ensure this runs smoothly, there may be teething problems.
You may contact me (Mrs Cowell) via my school email addresses at any time. As I am working from home or school, I will be available to respond to emails between regular school hours of 9:00-3:30pm. Replies may be not immediate, but I will respond as soon as I can. You may email outside of these hours, but please expect a reply the following day between the hours stated above.
I have organised a Year 4 class phone - this is if you wish to contact me within school hours. The number is 07999484117 Please use this to contact me if you have any queries that are best discussed via a phone.
Setting of Work:
I will be setting work on a regular basis for the subjects the usually taught in school. I shall adhere to our regular timetable as much as possible and set work across a range of subjects. There will be daily activities which will be available on the Year 4 “Homework Area” in the student login from 9:00am each day.
I shall aim to set a range of tasks: some will require the use of a laptop or tablet whereas other will not rely on electronic devices. I would ask that if there are any queries, the pupils contact us via the “blog” aspect of the Homework tab, or – if emails are sent, that these come from an adult’s email address, not the child’s.
I am very sorry not to be spending the regular time with my class. They continue to be very engaged in their learning and I really do enjoy spending time with them each day, seeing the progress they are making. This is something which I am passionate to maintain. To continue to see the children get excited by learning and achieving.
Finally, I hope that all families are able to stay healthy and happy over the upcoming weeks and that I will see you all when schools return. Please do keep in touch.
With kind regards and best wishes
Rebecca Cowell Proud Teacher of Year 4
