Reception Looking back and Forth 20th November

Reception news:

Our literacy focus has been around the book A star in a Jar. On Monday we had a treasure hunt to find something special just like the boy in the story. We explored the language in the book and especially focused on describing words. The writing was describing the boy and the treasure they found. Next week we will be writing a shorter version of the story using the phonics we know.

Im maths we did addition. We are also having a big drive on writing numbers correctly and in order. I am really pleased with how well they are progressing.

We heard the story of the Lost Sheep in RE and your child will have brought their colouring in sheet home and hopefully told you the story.

We continue to learn the song for the CD. The children asked for the words which I have sent home and I will attempt to email the music to you this weekend. Happy singing!

The children said about this week:

Have a lovely weekend
