Reception Looking back and Forth 6th November 2020

This has been a week of stories. I told the class the story of Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot. We based our writing on this and the children drew a picture of the part of the story they liked best and then wrote a few words using their own sounding out. Their writing is coming along very well. The most popular picture to draw was Guy Fawkes and his friends in jail! The other story I told then was David and Goliath - this is part of our statutory PE curriculum. They have brought home a picture of David that they coloured in so hopefully they can tell you this story too. I asked the children what they enjoyed at school this week and this is what they said:

Guy Fawkes story

phonics and writing letters and words on their boards

Building the  bonfire and running around the track

Making bonfire night sparkly pictures

Lunch time

Making shape pictures in their maths books

Next week we are learning about Diwali.
