Y2 Looking back and forth 12th November

Friday 12th November 2021 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 2

Looking back:

This week we have planned and begun re-telling the story A River. The children love this book and it’s been great to see this enthusiasm. In maths we have continued to work on subtraction and begun to learn how to use our own number-lines.

In Science we investigated materials around school and sorted them into categories. In history we have started to look at different types of houses, ready to find out about different homes through time. PE has seen us enjoy gymnastics with the sports coaches. The children have also enjoyed geography, music, nativity songs and we read each day.

Homework in Year 2

Please ensure all homework is completed and do let me know if you have any concerns

Maths: complete the mental maths sheet for Friday

English: reading comprehension

Spellings: sheet sent home for the quiz on Friday.

Please read with your child every day. Many children are decoding their reading books well but find answering the comprehension questions much harder. We are working on this at school but it will really help if you can also ask questions during home question time. Please see our class page for further ideas (files section).
