Y2 Looking Back and Forth 18th February

Friday 18th February 2022 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 2

Looking back:

In English the children linked their work to The Great Fire of London history topic and wrote fantastic simile poems. We have been completing maths booklets using all of the curriculum to see what we have learned as well as working on money, geometry and analogue time. Art sessions have involved creating a scene from the Fire of London using collage and oil pastels. They have enjoyed music, RE and French with Mrs Saxton and Mrs Cuttle. PE with Premier Sport has been team games. A great half term. Have a well deserved rest!

Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • Fire poems
  • Pyjama day for the PTA
  • Watching the video created about the Natural History museum. You can watch it here https://youtu.be/YBJszi_J9h0
  • Reading work
  • Art

Family discussion/questions:

What is your favourite subject in school? Can you explain why?

Looking forward:

  • Reading books will be changed on Monday. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.
  • PE will continue to be on Friday. The children may be outside so please ensure warm school PE kit is worn.
  • World Book Day on Thursday. Children can wear their party clothes for the day. Please send in your child’s favourite book to enjoy with others on the day.
