Y2 Looking back and forth 20.5.22

Friday 20th May 2022 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 2

Looking back:

The weeks are flying by in Year 2! We have begun writing our own versions of The Bear and the Piano and I have been super impressed with the quality of their work so far. We have also been working on reading comprehension skills. In maths we have been using all the skills learned so far in Year 2. We continued to learn about the important work of Florence Nightingale and have compared her to Mary Seacole. We found out why Marie Curie is famous. In science we finished the bean experiment and wrote in our butterfly diaries. The children have also experienced regular phonics, PE, geography and music. They have worked really hard as always and enjoyed a great week of learning.

Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • Watching the caterpillars change
  • Writing stories
  • Zumba
  • Mary Seacole
  • All my friends at break and lunchtimes
  • PE
  • Everything!

Family discussion/questions:

What does a seed need to germinate?
