Y2 Looking Back and Forth 22nd April

Friday 22nd April 2022 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 2

Looking back:

It has been a fabulous first week back at school. The children have settled back in quickly and worked very hard, although they will no doubt be tired now.

We have looked at poetry this week and enjoyed writing a version of “Freaky Week.” In reading we have practised comprehension questions and had time to read for pleasure. It was great to see the children have retained their arithmetic knowledge over the holiday. We started a new topic in history, about important women in medicine. The children are working on ball skills with Premier Sport.

Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • Freaky Week
  • Blown Away
  • PE
  • Florence Nightingale
  • Reading
  • Maths

Family discussion/questions:

What do you know about Florence Nightingale, Mary Seacole or Marie Curie?

Looking forward:

  • Reading books will be changed on Monday. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.
  • PE will be on Tuesdays, starting on the first day back! Please ensure school PE kit is worn.
  • Exploring a new text in English lessons
  • Young gardeners in Science
  • Using all our maths knowledge so far!
