Y3 Looking Back & Forth 16/7/21

Friday 16th July 2021 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3

Looking back:

We have worked so well together this week Class Three and I have been so impressed by your innovative Design and Technology skills. Our Tingatinga artwork to improve our environment is going really well, we are learning new painting techniques brilliantly and our African, moving animals are so clever – well done everyone!!! We also designed and created our very own smoothies which we thoroughly enjoyed making. We discovered that some people love fruit more than others I have to say. I’m so looking forward to our final few days next week to complete our work together.

 Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • Building our moving African animals
  • Painting our Tingatinga art pieces
  • Painting and designing our Tingatinga environmental artwork
  • Designing and making our own smoothies
  • Everything!!!

Family discussion questions:

Ask your children…

  • What force are we using to help our animals move?
  • What is the final part of a D & T project called?
  • Which fruits made the most successful smoothie?

Looking forward:

Next week, we will be starting our week with an African drumming workshop where we will explore the cultural sounds and learn how to play as an ensemble. I’m sure the children will really enjoy this musical opportunity, soon followed by completing our moving animals. We also have our outside piece of work to finish, a special visit from a fitness expert and finally, finishing off our year with a celebratory picnic on Thursday lunch time – remember your packed food everyone and a rug if you wish.

  • Please note that PE this week will be on Thursday and so PE kit will need to be worn on that day please.

Take care and stay safe,

Mrs Sant
