Y4 Friday 16th June - Looking Back and Forth

Friday 9th June– Looking Back & Forth in Year 4

Looking back:

This week, the children completed the MTC on Tuesday.  They were cool, calm, collected and approached it positively.  Also, on Tuesday, the children and staff from Elizabethfontein primary school arrived.  It has been wonderful to have the children working with us and playing out on the field at lunchtimes.  We have had a number of sessions with them.  One session was chatting about life in South Africa and asking them lots of questions.  We also had a dance session, which was absolutely amazing!  We were so proud of all the children, who immersed themselves in the experience and were beaming from ear-to-ear.  Some self confessed non-dancers got involved and left the session uplifted.  Today, we had a performance poetry session in the morning.  We were lucky to have Mia (who is staying with Clemmie) in our  class.  We read and performed a variety of poems, it was a lot of fun!  This afternoon has topped off a brilliant week with sports day.

Questions to ask at home  -

  • What is the new book called in English?
  • What is about?
  • What can you tell me about bees?

This week, we have some more dance sessions with our South African visitors and also some Pop Art sessions.   As well as European climate graphs, Logo in computing, Sikhism in R.E. and bees in science.

Rockstars – as much as possible 10 mins daily is ideal – at least once a week for 20 mins
