Y4 Friday 24th November - Looking Back and Forth

Friday 24th November – Looking Back & Forth in Year 4

Looking back:

This week, the children continued to write their biographies for Mallory.  These pieces of writing are long, but are labours of love.  The children have enjoyed writing about this local hero.  In maths, the class have been looking at adding and subtracting, using exchanges.

Questions to ask at home  -

  • What can you tell me know George Mallory?
  • Do you think he reached the summit?
  • Why do you think that?
  • How do you make ice-cream in Year 4?

Children’s highlights of the week

  • Writing my Mallory biography
  • Painting our diorama mountain ranges
  • Making ice-cream
  • Subtraction in maths
  • My Happy Mind – celebrating our character strengths

Looking forward:

This next week, is another packed week.  The children will be exploring CHOCOLATE and melting in science.  They will also look at the environmental damage on Everest, after so many climbers have tried to climb it.  The children will be learning about e-safety and keeping passwords safe.
