Y5 28.1.22 Weekly Update

Friday 28th January 2022 – Y5 Weekly Update

Looking back:

The children have been absolutely wonderful this week. We are so proud of the way they behaved when the inspectors were in school. They worked so hard and really showed the lovely pride and enthusiasm they have in their work.

Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • We enjoyed learning about sources of evidence in our history lesson about Ancient Greece.
  • We enjoyed our PSE lessons looking at budgeting and finances, and emotional responses to events that happen to us.
  • We really liked writing a story based on a vivid setting.

Family discussion questions:

  • Can the children show you the methods we have been practising to calculate division?
  • Can the children tell you why some sources of evidence are more reliable than others?
  • Can the children tell you which materials are good insulators/conductors?

Looking forward:

Next week, we will starting a writing unit of formal letter writing. We are moving on to fractions in maths, beginning with equivalent fractions. In our history topic we will be researching how children lived their lives in Ancient Greece.
