Y5 29.4.22 Weekly Update

Friday 29th April 2022 – Y5 Weekly Update

Looking back:

The children have had a great week. We have undertaken lots of decimals work in our maths lessons. In English, the children have written a fantastic formal report imagining they were Dr. Watson writing to Sherlock Holmes. In geography, the children have done some brilliant work about the journey of a river, presenting this as a collage in their books.

Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • We loved playing rounders in PE.
  • We liked creating our rivers collages.
  • We enjoyed learning about the story of Muhammad in RE.

Family discussion questions:

  • Ask the children if they can tell you about the journey of a river from source to sea.
  • Can the children remember the difference between active and passive voice?

Looking forward:

Next week, we will be researching what wildlife lives in river estuaries. In English, we will be starting a new writing topic based on a fantastic book with a dilemma. In maths, we will continue to undertake work based on decimals. In science, we will be studying the life cycle of plants.
