Y5 Weekly Update 22.12.25

Friday 22nd December 2023 – Y5 Weekly Update

Looking back:

What a lovely last week it’s been! The children have been amazing this (very long) term – working hard and producing some fantastic work. They deserve a restful festive break. I’m sure many of you enjoyed the Christmas Services in church, which were lovely to be part of. Primary schools are special places to be at this time of year. On Wednesday afternoon, the children watched a brilliant pantomime, and we’ve been finishing off some topic work... there’s been a few festive activities too.

Many thanks for my cards and gifts – I am very grateful and it is much appreciated.

Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • We felt proud taking part in the Christmas Services.
  • We really loved the pantomime on Wednesday.
  • We enjoyed Christmas lunch with our crackers.

Family discussion questions:

  • Ask the children what they have enjoyed learning this term.

Looking forward:

Next half-term, we start some really interesting new topics. Our English work is based on a very famous British detective. In history, we will be learning about World War II. Our maths work continues to look at area and perimeter, before moving on to more strategies for multiplication and division.

Have a wonderful festive break and I look forward to seeing the children again in January!
