Year 1 wb 5th June

Hi All,

In English we will be writing our own Papaya style stories this week.

In maths this week, the children looking at place value and how to partition two digit numbers into ones/units and tens.

This week on Thursday the children will be involved in ECO day. We will be learning all about worms!

In the afternoons – we will be looking at South Africa, and Clanwilliam in particular in preparation for the children and staff coming to visit our school from all the way from South Africa – we are all super mega excited.

Our highlights of the week: Had to have the theme of the Grandparents’ World of Wonder really!

  • Making ice –cream
  • Pond dipping – tadpoles and lots of other species
  • Making Andy Goldsworthy art out of shells and flowers
  • Having our photographs taken
  • Unnature hunt
  • Kim’s game – there was a huge egg (ostrich)
  • The Occarina performance
  • I liked the animals skulls
  • Butterfly painting

PE kits needed this week with names on the labels.

Harding your uniform free day is on Monday 12th June.

Maths and handwriting homework sheets for Friday.

Don’t forget the reading challenge – so far we have had lots of children taking the challenge. Remember it has to be 14 days consecutive reading at home.
