Year 2 6th March Looking Back and Forth

Friday 6th March 2020 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 2

Looking back:

This week the children have been writing fantastic stories using our book, Oliver and Patch, as inspiration. In maths the children have been busy using all their knowledge to solve addition and subtraction number problems.

In Science we have begun learning about “Our Environment” beginning with how we know that something is living. We have begun to learn about South Africa. The children have impressed me with the knowledge and skills they have retained from their learning in Year 1. We enjoyed another Zumba session plus lots more.

Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • Oliver and Patch – story writing
  • Zumba with Mrs Freeman
  • Mixed up maths
  • Science

Family discussion questions:

  • A robot moves. How do you know that it is not living?

Looking forward:

  1. Reading books are changed on Monday but please ensure your child has their pack with them every day
  2. Geography – South Africa and the United Kingdom
  3. Writing stories
  4. Zumba for Sport Relief on Friday – wear active clothes
  5. Science – our local environment topic
  6. Times table Quiz – Have you played RockStars yet?
