Year 2 Looking Back and Forth 21st January

Friday 21st January 2022 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 2

Looking back:

We have had a busy week! In English we have continued to enjoy “The Night Gardener”, working on a setting description and also vocabulary work. Phonics work was based around using the –er suffix to turn a verb into a noun. Guided reading sessions focused on fluency and comprehension questions. In maths we identified halves, quarters and three quarters of shapes. In Science we began to explore the properties of materials and understand why some materials could have multiple properties while others could not. Our PE with Premier Sport is games this term and the children focused on following rules of play and working together in a team.

We continued to have a well- being focus around sharing, talking about feelings and problem solving with friends.
