Year 2 Looking back and forth 24th June

Friday 24th June 2022 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 2

Looking back:

Another fantastic week in Year 2 which ended with a brilliant Rose Day experience! Year 2’s float was amazing. We planned and began to write stories inspired by our class book, Rosie Revere, Engineer. The children have learned lots of new vocabulary that they hope to use in their writing. In maths we have been working on telling the time to five minute intervals so please take any opportunities to do this at home too. In science we looked at food groups and what they give our bodies. The children have also experienced regular phonics, track races in PE, geography and music and more.

Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • Fables around the Kitchen table visiting our school
  • Rosie Revere
  • Seeing what the Year 3 maypole dance looks like
  • Science
  • RE
  • Playing on the field with the whole school

Family discussion/questions:

Rosie Revere’s inventions don’t always work well. We discovered the importance of never giving up. When have people in your family had to keep trying before they suceeded?

Looking forward:

  • Reading books will be changed on Mondays. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.
  • PE will be on Fridays. Please ensure school PE kit is worn.
  • Writing a story using all the skills learned in Year 2
