Looking back:

This week, has been a big publishing week for the class, writing their storm scene setting writing.  Two pieces are now up on the writing wall in the foyer for anyone to read.  In maths, the children have been looking at related multiplication and division.  It is fantastic to see their confidence grow with their multiplication timestables skills.

Questions to ask at home  -

• If you know 4x12= 48, what else do you know?
• What was the best part of Young Voices?
• What is the ‘domino effect’?
• What are you looking at in My Happy Mind at the moment?
• How are you getting along with the quiz board?

 Looking forward:

This next week, the children will be using AS maps to discover Anglo-Saxon place names in our locality.  In R.E. the children will be looking at the Jewish festivals of Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashannah.  In science, the children will complete their progress test as well as working on their quiz boards.  In French, they will be looking at the weather forecast.

Homework in Year 4

Maths – yellow sheet

English – figurative language work and GAPS mat

Reading – daily at least 15 mins – remember to take the Accelerated Reader Quizzes

Rockstars – as much as possible 10 mins daily is ideal – at least once a week for 20 mins

Spellings  – Mrs Riddell – Please learn them for the test on Wednesday.  It is better to look at them for 5 minutes each day than try to learn them all in one night.  The children remember them better learnt over the week.

Could the children please complete their homework in pencil or blue/black pen not felt tip.

Timestables – New this week – week 1  - x 4 , x6  x 7 and x 14

(Homework can be handed it at anytime before Friday, the children know where the basket is)
