Year 6 - Week in Review - Friday 3rd February 2017

It's been a super week in Year 6, and we've been experiencing so many different lessons once more.

Firstly, thank you to all families who were able to attend our SATs information evening.  We hope that you found this particularly useful and are clear about how the SATs are administered, assessed and reported.  We issued paper copies of the handout to those pupils whose families were not able to join us.

The children have been working in various different groups during English, to discuss positive sides to a persuasive text.  We're reading Rooftoppers by Katherine Rundell and we're writing to the National Childcare Agency to ask if Sophie can stay with Charles.  Read some of our draft letters below.

Maths has seen us learn about transformation of shapes and we've got to grips with translations of shape, we're working on reflection now.

Within science, we've been looking at how nutrients are delivered around our bodies, learning about diffusion and osmosis, and what happens during these scientific processes.  We've also begun our study of "The Titanic" which is already looking to be extremely interesting.

Mrs. Mottershead has been teaching French, whilst Mrs. Benson has continued with our RE lessons.

We're really looking forward to next week and what new and exciting challenges that might bring.  You never know what'll happen next in this class!
