Year 6 - Week in Review - w/e Friday 13th January 2017

So, our first week into 2017 has been a really good one.  It was great to see all our pupils back into class, refreshed after the Christmas holidays.

This week has seen us begin some new topics.  In English, we have begun to read our new class novel called "Rooftoppers" by Katherine Rundell.  We're enjoying learning all about the main characters and we are beginning to create our own protagonists (5HP for the first pupil to come and explain this word to Mrs. T).  Maths has seen us secure our knoweldge and application of working with 7-digit numbers and we've been exploring the human body and making unusual smoothies with Mrs. Cowell.  It was capped off with a lovely time with our buddies on Friday afternoon - it's been some time since we've enjoyed playing with them.

Next week, is exciting in that we are all enjoying iSing Pop - across the school, not just in Year 6.  A letter has been issued on Friday 13th with details of the upcoming concert.

We are beginning to consider small amounts of revision for our SATs shortly - little and often - and we would really appreciate it if the children could definitely have their homework diaries in their school bags at all times.  Mondays are when Mrs. Cowell ususally sets the homework and Friday is for Mrs. Timmins' homework.

Sadly no photos this week - Mrs. Timmins took lots then managed to accidentaly delete them!  Apologies!

As usual, let us know if there's anything we can do to help.

King regards
