Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 13th October 2023

Y6 – Friday 13th October 2023 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

This has been a really interesting week which began with our Monday morning visit to the “Crucial Crew at Crewe” event.  Our pupils enjoyed meeting with six different organisations and learned new facts and skills to help keep them safe when they are out and about, as they are now gaining that little bit more independence as young people.  Every task was interesting but seeing them being able to use a defibrillator, with no adult intervention, was amazing.  We have completed most of our work towards our Exhibition next week and we are excited to share this with you.  Thank you for all your support with the contributions towards this – we hope you’ll enjoy what you see.  We won’t give too much away this week: we will let you wait and see until Thursday.

We have had a few requests for tickets for the upcoming Crewe Alex game.  If you might be interested in attending the game, please let Mrs Timmins know by Friday 3rd November.  After this date, the tickets will be offered to the rest of the school.  If you have requested a ticket, this has been received and Mrs Timmins will contact you via School Spider.  Thank you – we hope that the Alex win the game for you!

Please enjoy looking at our photos from this week!

Family discussion questions:

  • When working with the North West Ambulance on CPR and using the Defibrillator, what did the letters “DRS ABC” help you to remember? (To find the answer – have a look at the photos from this week.  It is really helpful for adults to know this, too).
  • What is the 3-digit telephone number to ring in case of a power cut?
  • How do elephants, high-speed trains and football pitches link together? Again, there is a clue in the photos to jog pupils’ memories.

Looking forward:

  • We are so excited for next week – our Exhibition 2023 “Celebrating Life” opens for your enjoyment on Wednesday – full details are in the newsletter
