Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 17th November 2023

Y6 – Friday 17th November 2023 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Parents’ Appointments

We are looking forward to chatting with you next week to discuss how your child has settled into Year 6.  I – Mrs Timmins – will be sharing information with you whilst Mrs Cowell is taking the Year 4 slots.  Afternoon appointments will take place in the junior hall with appointments after school in the Year 6 classroom.  Meetings are 10 minutes long – if you wish to discuss things further, you are invited to make a specific appointment at another time.  Thank you for your help with this.

Mrs Timmins

Looking back:

This week, our pupils have been working a lots of tasks, really using their skills in different ways.  We have begun to write narratives based upon our characters and their roles on The Endurance; fractions is our topic in maths whilst the subject of “palm oil” provided some interesting discussions in class.  We have enjoyed working on databases which has crossed our science and IT skills brilliantly and we have followed this with looking at specific hats that we find fascinating.  Friday afternoons with Mrs Murdoch (Sports Coaching Group) has seen us enjoy gymnastic tasks whilst we listened to some fantastic soundtracks in the background.  Of course, our favourite highlight of the week was seeing our buddies on Friday – some of us enjoyed time outside whilst others made little bookmarks with them.  Such special times.
