Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 24th June 2022

Y6 – Friday 24th June  2022 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

We have really enjoyed the mix of activities this week.  In maths, we have begun to look at “tours and holidays” for the White Rose characters; The Flower Boy continues to be our story focus for English; hat-making is keeping us busy on Thursdays; lung capacity was a focus for science; Scratch and game-designing continues to keep of challenged on Wednesdays.  ‘The Rocky Monster Show’ continues to take shape now as the weeks tick down.  We’re really trying to fit a lot into our last half term, with each week being different.

Letters issued Y6:

No letters this week but email/text issued on Thursday 23rd regarding the Year 6 Growing Up Talk

Year 6 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • EF Rehearsing the play
  • BH Hatmaking with Mrs Riddell
  • DM PE with Mr Biggs
  • MH Science – revising for our test, we crammed a lot in!

Family discussion questions:

  • Tell me how you create your games using Scratch.
  • What is the equivalence between 10 miles and 10 kilometres?
  • How did you test your lung capacity?

Looking forward:

  • We are focusing more on rehearsing our show as we need to be rehearsing placings and staging. Kingswood information will take some time on Monday so that we are ready for this and we have our science assessment coming up.

  • Kingswood – we head off on Friday 1st July – please remember your kit and your WATER BOTTLE!! (and bring some sunshine too, please!)
