Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 25th March 2022

Y6 – Friday 25th March 2022 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

What a treat to see such lovely weather this week and for the class to be able to enjoy time on the field at lunch break – a great opportunity to run off some energy having worked hard throughout their days.  We have completed lots of activities this week – narrative writing; creating shadows and puppets; working with mirrors, light and darkness in science; improving our coding skills for ICT; enjoying music; honing our hockey skills; and – of course – enjoying time with our buddies.  There are a few photos to enjoy on our Gallery page.

Letters issued Y6:

No letters this week

Year 6 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • LB Playing together on the field
  • SC Completing our reading assessment
  • LP Writing our Hansel and Gretel narratives
  • MF Lunch!
  • LP Maths

Family discussion questions:

  • What is the formula for finding the area of a triangle?
  • Explain how you might have spotted an “unexpected rainbow”.

Looking forward:

  • We are surprised to see that it’s the last week of our spring term – the time has gone really quickly. This week, we’ll be completing our assessments for maths and English, and generally rounding off lots of topics from this term.  Please could families ensure that the children all have a named water bottle in school – we often have the pupils asking for a bottle and we don’t have an endless supply.  Thank you ?
