Yr 4 Friday 13th October - Looking Back and Forth

Friday 13th October– Looking Back & Forth in Year 4

Looking back:

This week, has been another brilliant week in Year 4.  The class have worked so hard on their work, in preparation for the Exhibition.  They are very excited about this up-and-coming event.  To have the opportunity to share their work with you all.  This week, they have refined their skills in publishing, sculpting, squashing, moulding, thinking, reflecting, problem solving, creating, colour mixing and team work

Questions to ask at home  -

  • Why is the symbol of Manchester a worker bee?
  • What can we do to help bees?
  • What has a negative effect on bees?
  • What is the amygdala?
  • What is the pre-frontal cortex?
  • What is the hippocampus?

Challenge - If your child can have answers written on a piece of paper and hand it to me on Monday there are 10 housepoints to be won!  Mrs C  :)

Children’s highlights of the week

  • Making our bee sculptures
  • Putting our work ready for the Exhibition
  • Writing bee facts, puns and sayings
  • Drawing close observational drawings of bees
  • P.E. with Mrs Murdoch

Looking forward:

This next week, the children will have lots of wonderful experiences with the Exhibition programme we have in store.  Please ask you child what they have done this week.  It would be great to see you all at the Year 3 and 4 performance on Wednesday 18th October at 5pm.

The class will also be learning about Islamic funerals and weddings, as well as Himalayas research in their mountain’s topic.
